We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team!

Job Summary:

As an HR Assistant with Ventura MedStaff, perform administrative duties related to the operations of the human resource department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers and directs departmental phone calls and emails in shared inbox.
  • Receives and distributes office mail via scan.
  • Schedules and organizes appointments; take minutes during departmental meetings.
  • Proofreads, types up documents and correspondence produced by department.
  • Completes employee verification of employment requests.
  • May assist with preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
  • Responsible for daily tracking and data entry of traveler employee onboarding and offboarding; this includes benefit administration.
  • Create and administer employee wellness hub on company intranet Voyager.
  • Manages employee engagement platform Nectar.
  • Assists HR Director with projects such as surveys and audits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to type 60 words a minute.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; required.
  • Administrative training; required.
  • Two years of administrative assistance experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.

Salary Range:

  • $18.00 – $23.00/per hour based on experience.
